Ill be back you dont have to worry A kiss on the cheek and a hug to my momma Hopped on a metal sled to the south Putting excitement on my back Trying to enjoy what I thought was a vacation I worked hard, cant i enjoy my day Maybe I did whistle at that white woman Yet the consequences that came after were unnecessary Paranoia filled the air Circulating my flesh Fear took hold, they came for me They were just going to whip me and set me loose I was beaten, lynched, shot, mutilated Tossed into the river like cattle my corpse attached to a metal fan Floating along the river My pain echoed all through those waters Blood spilled out of me My tongue was chocked out of me Eye gouged , ear sliced Ax through the top of the head My face was separated Who could do such devilish deeds Men without hearts, Men without souls In the name of their hate They cast pain upon my family leaving nothing but photos of me For my face is unrecognizable But my pain so familiar They had white privilege All my momma had was PAIN -Emmett Till (RIP)
