Ill be frank, I came to hate the song Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen - TopicsExpress

Ill be frank, I came to hate the song Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen because of there being so many versions and just as the hype of one version dies down BAM theres another version and the whole thing starts over again. Overexposure can be a very bad thing. Also there seem to be no versions where people take the Mick out of that song, its all so serious and heartfelt, as if it was a game who could make the most heart rendering version. So for me it was quite a welcome surprise when Dutch Comedian Andre Van Duin came up with a silly version which was about a Farmer who entered a dating show. Heres his version and I translated the lyrics as closely as I could and made an effort to make them rhyme. A farmer who was looking for a change in life Wrote a letter to Farmer seeks wife So he would have somebody to cuddle with in bed to take him higher The farmer selected a few dames Which as legend claims Nearly set his boxer shorts on fire All the cows All the cows All the cows keep on mooing. When he happily met up with the first girl They ended up in the haystack in a whirl He didnt beat around the bush with all his wooing The second girl before she knew Ended up gagged and bound in the horse feed pew And with her cheeks all flushed asked farmer what are you doing? All the cows All the cows All the cows keep on mooing. Then it was up to the farmer to decide who would stay at the farm and become his bride Who of them was miss right and would be by law? Then he said I think I know and neatly put Itll be the one with the biggest butt Which is the mark of beauty for every cow All the cows All the cows All the cows keep on mooing. (As this goes on you hear the farmer and the woman arguing. Ending with her storming out and the farmer remarking that its a shame and that he should write another letter to farmer seeks wife) https://youtube/watch?v=xzTdlvuogEs
