Ill be writing a story today or tomorrow on the northeast road bans and would love to know your thoughts. There is a constitutional protection for the freedom to move about and I fail to see how states like New York and Connecticut are not violating rights by mandating that no citizen is allowed to move from point A to point B because of weather dangers. In New York they even told citizens they couldnt walk on sidewalks! Yeah, safety and all. I get it. But at what point does the need to be able to move snow plows across a city become superior over constitutional rights? And if government can use safety as a reason to violate rights during a bad weather situation, wont they be able to use he same argument in a plethora of other scenarios? When did the land of the free and home of the brave become a country where entire states of citizens are locked down at home because of snow?
