Fighting piracy on the one hand and persuading DJs not to use pirate sites is a battle that I cant win without unified and huge support. Ive also heard of radio DJs bulk mailing the individual tracks from their sets via wetransfer, dropbox etc, including VIP pre-release promos. Off the back of this I need to consider all potential distribution alternatives that give us a chance of earning some beer money. Looking at this years accounts, most of our artists will be earning next to nothing due to anti-piracy measures. Would love to hear your opinions on this to develop some kind of ongoing strategy
