Please have an open mind, enough to at least go...HUH IS THIS WHOLE SEPARATION THING ONLY ABOUT AMERICAN PIT BULL TERRIERS (APBT, pit bulls)? NO NO NO NO NO, it is about ALL bull breeds and any potential MUTTS who look bullish the argument tends to focus around the American Pit Bull Terrier because THAT BREEDS abbreviated (nick) name is PIT BULL and that name is what is INCORRECTLY being used around the world to (falsely) create hysteria, discrimination, and LETHAL legislation and policies that affects not only a single breed unfairly, but MILLIONS of different dogs. SO WHY DOES IT MATTER? BREED SPECIFIC LEGISLATION-Breed Specific Legislation (BSL) is defined as a law or statute that equates the qualities of a dangerous dog with a certain breed, and bans or restricts certain breeds based on identity, not behavior of a specific animal.25 This type of legislation does not make concessions for those members of the breed who are valuable assets to their communities, such as therapy dogs, assistance dogs, or advanced trained dogs such as drug dogs and search and rescue dogs. What is happening right now is by INCORRECTLY using the pit bull name the media creates hysteria, surrounding an inflate number of bites(which even being inflated....if you compare say to car accidents, or injuries by box cutters....is minimal) because it gets them RATINGS,it makes them MONEY. When a golden retriever(or fluffy looking mutt) mauls someone....(yep it happens, more often than Pit Bulls no one hears of it bc its not as HORRIFIC sounding, because there havent been decades of focus on them , like pit Bulls. Not to mention, the media often FALSELY calls dogs PIT BULLS even when other documentation surrounding that attack, states otherwise...THE MEDIA LIES, but they have billions of ignorant people feeding (and perpetuating) their lies, weather with intentional malice, or well meaning mis-information...it still helps feed the medias lies. THE ONLY REASON BSL EXISTS TODAY IS BECAUSE OF MIS-IDENTIFICATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHY IS IT NOT OK TO AFFECTIONATELY CALL MY DOG A PIT BULL? it is NOT ok because a Pit Bull is NOT a type (hint check ANY breed registry and you will see terrier group, working group, herding group, toy group, sporting group, non sporting group, Hound group....NO PIT BULL GROUP that is because there is NOT ONE, it does not exist, NO WHERE in the dog world does that type exist...it is made up, fabricated, false, incorrect, pulled outta thin air, by the media, and ignorant masses(which includes MANY Bull MUTT owners, AND other bull breed owners(for what ever reason ive yet to figure out).....what is WORSE..is so many TRUSTED sources (mainly rescue/advocacy groups, well meaning, but detrimental at the same time) GO ALONG WITH THE MASSES..instead of the truth...which is a PIT BULL is only a name for ONE BREED...the American Pit Bull Terrier....NO OTHER. If we as the Bull Breed community can not get our breeds names straight, how can we expect the media, governments and general public to do so?! to those who way...it doesnt matter what we say, the government and BSL goes by looks, it doesnt matter what you call your dog, or my dog, because the masses and IMPORTANT people (government) all see them as one way, so it doesnt matter......if they think my dog is a Pit Bull and its really a boxer mix (or who really knows), they do not care what the truth is, only what they think... BECAUSE WE ALLOW IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they are running off of DECADES of our community NOT CORRECTING people when they are wrong, it will take a long time to fix this disaster....but the ONLY way to fix it is through the truth....
