Ill most likely get alot of flack for this post but......... I see alot of posts about primitive fire starting and the tools people carry in their bag. Ok thats great and I to have a flint and steel and a large ferro rod and tinder box. What I also have in my bag is a plastic bottle of zippo lighter fluid, bic lighter, a plastic zip lock of wood pellets (for a pellet stove) and a large box of wooden kitchen matches all wrapped saran wrap. The way I see it if I am ever in a TRUE survival situation and need a fire, I want be sure I can make that fire. and make it fast and without doubt in any conditions. Now its true a flint and steel and other methods primitive have far more longevity but for a TRUE need for fire Im going for the lighter fluid kit.
