Ill never forget that day and all the days I saw blockbuster movies which began in my life with Jaws, then Star Wars followed by the 70s Man of Steel. On this date in 1978 I went to the old Cinemark theater in Arlington, Tx to see Superman the Movie. I was mortified the theater show times had changed and the 5:30 showing had been changed to 5:00pm because the running time was so long. Lucky for me, I only missed about 15 minutes, but I stayed afterward to watch the whole thing again. I kept hoping I would hear George Reeves TV music when Superman flew but John Williams score was so much bigger and fuller. I thought if George Reeves had lived, he would have been 63 and may have easily been cast as Jor-El. But Marlon Brando was incredible and fit the role perfectly. Yep. Im a big ol geek.
