Ill never sing another song that I dont believe in. So said Elvis Presley in June of 1968 during the production of what was at the time a TV special intended for the Christmas season of 1968. It was said after this song was presented to him, written at producer Steve Binders request, by writer and arranger Walter Earl Brown. A song that was inspired by a conversation Elvis had with him about the assassinations of Martin Luther King and Robert Kennedy that had occurred in the proceeding months. I cant think of a more appropriate way to close out Martin Luther King day.
