Ill never understand this society. When people make mistakes and break the law, why do we send them to prison? Some say its rehabilitation, others say its to pay your debt to society. If either of these things are true, then wouldnt the 23 months that Michael Vick was sentenced to qualify for both?!? Why then, is there a petition at SUNY Cortlands campus to ban him from practicing there with the New York Jets?!?! He served his time, payed his debt, and hasnt had any more run-ins with the law!!! I think if any of those people lost their freedom for 23 months, they would hesitate to sign that petition. I dont condone dog fighting. If you know me, you know Im a dog lover, and I raise pitbulls that act like babies. I just think its absolutely absurd for someone to try to mess with this mans livelihood due to something he has already served time for. Either accept a persons payment of debt, or just stop sending people to prison! Whats it gonna be?!?
