Ill send via class email too since there are some folks not on social media: HOMECOMING NEWS: Exciting things are coming up in October!! These are the facts known, to date, 08/14/2014, on the > Will Rogers High School Community Foundation, Inc. Final event for the 75th Anniversary Celebration, from Iris Warlick Studenny 66, Foundation, Vice-Pres, and Chair for 75th Anniversary Events. 1) Friday, October 10, 7:00 am- A Golf Tournament for alumni sponsored by the WR All Sports Booster Club. Information on this will come from Johnnie Egbert, Vic Prather, and Norman Summers, and Jacki Harris. Entry Donation will be $100.00. 2) 2) Friday Oct. 10, 3:00pm- Still pending approval from the Principal and Administration… We would like to have a ceremony in front of the school, (hopefully by a street sign at 5th Place and New Haven), to dedicate the New WILL ROGERS BLVD signs along 5th Place from Harvard Avenue to Pittsburgh Ave, pPlaced by the W.R.H.S.Community Foundation, from a generous donation from the Tulsa Oxley Foundation. It would be wonderful for us, if the school chose to combine it with any kind of Pep Rally for the Homecoming Football Game that Evening at 7:00pm at the Stadium at B.T.Washington H.S. 3) Fri. Oct 10; 4:30pm- A Homecoming BBQ Dinner in the Old Gym. Served from 4:30pm to 6:30pm. Sponsored by the W.R.H.S. Community Foundation. The Donation of $20.00 per person will be established. It is entirely possible that this event will attract 1000 to 1200 alumni, therefore we will PRE- Sell tickets, and have a 1000 ticket limit. ( We sold out at the 75th Anniversary!!) We will probably need to set up some eating tables down the Main Hallway! It is our hope that Jr.R.O.T.C., current Cheerleaders, Honor Students, Chess Club groups and their leader, etc. will Volunteer to help us serve the plated meal to attendees. At approx. 5:30pm, during the dinner a short program honoring alumni football, cheer team and pep squad members. The football coach has agreed to bring the current team through the dinner crowd, as they go to their bus and the game, So that the group can give them a cheering send off! At approx. 6:30pm, the rented T.P.S. buses, will depart the front of school, taking alumni, who have paid $5.00 to the game and return after the game to the Rogers Campus. Alumni NOT wishing to attend the game will stay in the gym to visit, and help clean up until approx. 8:30pm. 4) SATURDAY MORNING- OCTOBER 11- in the School Cafeteria, A PANCAKE BREAKFAST 9:00am to 12:00 noon. Hosted by the ALL SPORTS BOOSTER CLUB, in association with the WRHS Jr. R.O.T.C. A donation of $10.00 per person will be established. There is a great possibility that from 500 to 800 alumni will choose to attend this event. It is our hope to have Historic Information Tours of the School Bldg, and Auditorium available at that time. The rest of the weekend, Saturday afternoon and Sunday, have been left open, for different alumni groups or classes, picnics, dinners or parties on their own. JOIN US!!!!!!!!! And ….GOOOOOOOOOOOOO ROPERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
