Ill tell you what happens now. From now on there will be two of you in the same person. You will be the guy who goes to work, Loves his wife, protects his kids and lives his life always on guard. The other guy in you will never leave the field. He will bring up things you dont want to hear, dont want to see, and dont want to remember. He will bring up the fact that you need to live your life the best way you can. Why? Because there were buddies and comrades in arms that died at 18, 19 and 20 years old. It is for them that we must live well! They never got the chance finish school, get married, have children, or grow old. We have to give up the guilt that comes with survival, knowing that someone next to us took the round. We need to understand that it just wasnt our time. We have to know that people who have never done what we did will never understand it. So, we move on. We do whatever it is the best way we can. But, we never forget! And so it is with all wars, and with all those who serve and have put their lives on the line. When the music stops....take a breath...Then write a new song!
