Illegal immigration protesters face off in Lansing LANSING — Rival camps on the issue of illegal immigration squared off on a Lansing sidewalk today, resulting in one trespassing arrest during what mostly were peaceful protests. At least three dozen people participated in two simultaneous protests at the corner of Kalamazoo Street and Pennsylvania Avenue in Lansing, before moving on to the Capitol. A handful of organizations that call themselves Michigan 3 Percenters, Overpasses for America and Citizens Against Amnesty stood on the lawn of a private residence at the intersection, urging the strengthening of U.S. borders and stricter enforcement of immigration laws. Participants said this weekend marks a national protest against illegal immigration.
