Illegal structures coming up in Srinagar city: NC Leader Srinagar: National Conference legislator Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamal Thursday alleged that certain ‘vested interests’ are taking the advantage of present situation and have been constructing illegal structures at certain places in Srinagar city. He said that scores of illegal structures have come up from past 25 days in city centre Lal Chowk and Dal Lake. “I appeal State Government to take stern action against such elements who have been leaving no stone unturned in tarnishing the image of the government,” Kamal told CNS adding that SMC, SDA and LAWDA must come forward to check the activities of these elements. Kamal admitted that dewatering process in certain areas like Jawahar Nagar and Raj Bagh is going at snails pace. He however said that government has been utilizing all its resources to relieve people from the hardships. “In fact, catastrophic floods paralyzed the government but at the same time it affected everyone. Those who criticize the government must understand that it was not ordinary flood but a mayhem,” Kamal said. National Conference Additional General Secretary refuted the claims that Ministers and other politicians are not present on the government. He said that the representatives of people are everywhere while on the directions of Chief Minister 6 lakh quintals of rice have already been distributed among flood victims,” he said. Kamal claimed that Kashmir Valley is limping back towards normalcy as government is doing commendable job on the ground. He however added that there are still certain areas where relief have not been distributed among flood victims.
