Country music star Toby Keith, known for patriotic songs and a devotion to red Solo cups, will headline the Springfield concert celebrating the inauguration of Gov.-elect Bruce Rauner and other statewide elected officers next month, inaugural officials said Monday. Keiths numerous hits include Courtesy Of The Red, White And Blue (The Angry American), in which he intones of the nations enemies, Youll be sorry that you messed with the U.S. of A. Cause well put a boot in your ass. Its the American way. A more recent hit, Red Solo Cup, has the singer noting, A red Solo cup is the best receptacle for barbecues, tailgates, fairs and festivals. And you, sir, do not have a pair of testicles if you prefer drinking from glass. The opening act will be the Boat Drink Caucus — Republican state Reps. Chad Hays of Catlin and Mike Tryon of Crystal Lake and Democratic Sen. Don Harmon of Oak Park, who perform Jimmy Buffett, tropical-style music with classic rock favorites. The concert is scheduled from 8:30 p.m. until midnight. The concert floor will be standing-room only and seats will only be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets are $125 a person and available at IllinoisInauguration. Admission includes food and beverages, but its unclear if they will be served in a red Solo cup.
