Illinois Lutheran Schools is having our Bike-A-Thon on Sunday, September 22. Registration for this event will start at 12:00 noon. It is a fun day for all families to enjoy! The official pledge forms will be in this week and sent home with every child within our school system. Extra forms can be found in both of our schools offices. In order for this to be successful, we need lots of volunteers and/or donations. Baked goods for our Bake Sale is always appreciated, as well as bottled water, (gallons and/or bottles) for our bikers/walkers. Volunteers are needed to be lap counters, distribute water to our bikers/walkers, kitchen helpers, registration room helpers, clean up crews, popcorn makers, lots of positions open. It is alot of work, but It can also be lots of fun.... if WE make it fun :) This event, as well as our Golf outing, are the two biggest events that we have. Because of these events, we have been able to purchase smart boards for just about every classroom, at both the Elementary School, and the Jr. High/High School, as well as several other items for each building. In addition, it gives people a chance to meet new people/families within our school system, and churches. The East Will County Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans is matching funds for this event. If anyone is interested in helping out, baking, or donating, please let me know.
