Illinois deer processing centers are seeing half the donations to local food pantrys that they saw at this time last year. In Illinois, the Sportsmen Against Hunger will pay $50 to process a deer if a hunter donates that harvest to a food pantry. Chad Miles, owner of a four generation deer processing company, says Illinois is no longer helping to pay the processing cost through the Sportsmen Against Hunger program in most countys in Southern Illinois. The Illinois countys in green on the map are the only eligible countys in 2014. According to the NRA Hunter Services Department the Sportsmen Against Hunger, was state wide in Illinois during the 2012-2013 season. This story and much more tonight on Heartland News at 9 and 10 .
