Im Blackfoot Cherokee. We are a small band. Not well known. Without lands, so it is near and dear to our hearts when another tribal land is threatened. The Keystone pipeline may be temporarily stalled, but that does not mean our brothers and sisters of the Sioux nation are in the clear. Its time for anyone with even one drop of native blood to band together and aid the Sioux tribes in keeping their promised lands free from a pipeline invasion. This pipeline is in direct violation of the Treaty of 1868. This was challenged and won in 1980 by the Sioux tribe. Going above the treaty to forgo promised territories is an act of war. During the civil war, my people of the Cherokee nation and other Indian nations banned together to protect freedmen and runaway slaves in the south.
