Im Indian, just Indian. Im not South Asian any more than Russains are North Asians.Im not Asian Indian or East Indian. There are 1.3 billion of us. We dont need a cardinal direction, ok! Its not our fault that Christopher Columbus got lost. Sure, we love our states. But theres strength in numbers. One out of every six human beings is Indian. So stop diving us. The British already did that once. And we need to quit saying that we are not Indians because i wasnt born here but sound like this or eat that. Our hearts are Indian. Were feelers. We gave the world the romance of Bollywood films and the music of Ravi Shankar and Zubin Mehta and Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhonsle and the allure of Kama-Sutra. We are thinkers. Were great at Math because we invented numbers; and were pretty good at letters too. Were doctors, engineers and techies; and we mean business. Were the worlds third largest economy and the wealthiest ethnic group in America. Were huge and efficient. India is all on one time-zone. That way everybody in the country is delayed but at the same time. We never invade anyone because we already have everything - chess, the ruler. the button, wireless communication, arranged marriage, flush-toilets, steel, democracy. All us, all India. And youre welcome world for yoga and elevating cricket into a multi-billion dollar sport and making food so good that you sale them across the placet and have some. Our food is hot, our country is hot, our women are hot. Our men are lucky! When the world prays, we meditate. We practically invented religious tolerance. And we gave you Mahatma Ganghi and pandits and gurus and karma and dharma and kismet and re-incarnation. The motherland is magical and mystical.
