Im Julia and Im very happy to be coming to Queens in the fall for Arts. Ive heard nothing but good things about the versatility of your film program and Im beyond excited about it. Im hoping to major in film and I have my eye on the stage and screen program in upper years but I will have to see how that plays out! I had the chance to tour the new performing arts centre and though I am sadly aware that first years wont have the chance to study there it is a stunning facility and Im super excited to call it home. :) I love theatre and musical theatre despite my complete lack of singing ability, and I really hope to get involved in the theatre community at Queens. My favourite show is Jersey Boys although I did not enjoy the latest movie adaptation (while were throwing out opinions I adored the newest adaptation of the Great Gatsby and I think Tobey Maguire is a better Spiderman). I love love love love love movies and I think its more valuable to learn someones favourite movies than just let them talk about themselves so a quick list: Jurassic Park (all of them), Shutter Island, The Virgin Suicides, Independence Day, The Truman Show, Pleasantville, American Beauty, Revolutionary Road, Earth Girls Are Easy, Titanic (yes im that girl who likes leonardo dicaprio too much) The Usual Suspects, V For Vendetta, Ferris Buellers Day Off (goes without saying I think) Rope, Rear Window, Psycho (if were talking hitchcock) Dirty Dancing, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Back To The Future, The Avengers, Star Trek. Steven Spielberg, Wes Anderson, Sofia Coppola, Baz Lurhmann, Martin Scorcese, Sam Mendes! My favs TV-wise are Fargo (FARGO!!) Corner Gas, My Life In Film, The Spoils of Babylon, Doctor Who, Sherlock. Last movie I watched was Se7en (love it) next movie I will watch is either The Beach or 22 Jump Street (high expectations for both). Forgive me for length these are my last words: I recently got braces despite the pictures I chose to convince you otherwise, I have an unhealthy love for F Scott Fitzgerald and his life and works (please let me know if you do also) and I love to make new friends so feel free to drop me a message if you find us in any way compatible based on that list of movies up there. Cant wait to see you all in the fall! :)
