Im NOT up early....I couldnt fall asleep! So Boker Tov..Good Morning! Today is Elul 21 and it is the Third Day..Yom Shlishi. Very nice out,,in the 50s right now. It is supposed to stay cool all day here in my little part of the world. I tried to post yesterday but either this computer was acting up or it was the internet. Well, I had things to do anyway....did Arins wash..the first time since school started. She has so many clothes....again! And she still has several new things she needs to wear yet! I have been thinking about all the news reports about the NFL players and abuse. The one who hit his wife. Many people think she should not have stayed with him. Well, it is not as easy as one would think. I lived with domestic violence for many years. For a long time I regretted staying and I was miserable a lot. I felt bad for my children. BUT I finally allowed our Elohim to minister to me and He showed me that we cannot keep living in the past...we have to let it go. IF I had left and started a new life I do not know if I would be in the relationship with HIM that I am in now. I do not know if I would have kept seeking Him and would have come into the truth if I was in another life. I might still be in the church and celebrating the pagan holidays! I praise Him that I am where I am supposed to be. I thought a lot about the one who is accused of child abuse for using a switch on his son. I know we all remember that a switch was an accepted way of disciplining a child when we were young and maybe even some of us used one on our kids. It was an effective way to discipline a kid BUT with any punishment, it can be taken too far. I remember when I was about 17, my Mom had a best friend who had an adopted daughter and I was crazy about this child. We went there one evening and she was in the bathtub. As I was going into see her...she was about three years old the, my Mom stopped me and told me that the little girl had ran out into the street so the parents HAD to punish her to make her understand she could NOT go in the street. I was not prepared for what I saw. who ever switched her had hit her from the neck down onto her legs. She was covered with whelps and horrible switch marks. they had beat her. This was definitely abuse as we understand it now. BUT back then it was not called abuse. My Mom had a knack for seeing things as not as evil as it really was..she made excuses for a lot of sin..I can think of many times she would tell me about something someone had done but would try and justify it as being ok. WE must look soundly on every situation. We must use the discernment of our Elohim and not gloss over sin as though it is alright. We are to be set apart and righteous. We are not to allow things to be kind of ok in our lives. Either it is or it isnt. Do not do anything in hast...let Him guide you. Remember NO is a righteous word. We do not always have to say yes. That yes word causes a lot of evil in the world when people THINK they have to say yes because its the Christian thing to do! NO! I am glad I am NOT A CHRISTIAN ANYMORE! I could not post the Elul Meditation for yesterday. So I will post yesterdays and todays..... September 15--20th of Elul Do you love yourself? Don’t be afraid to appreciate yourself and the uniqueness that is you. If the Light created you and put all this energy into you, you must be something special. Reflect upon and record areas that you consider yourself unique. Also, record the areas of your life that you consider yourself less than unique. Are there any areas of your life you want to change to become unique? The Midrash teaches that when Moshe was arguing with God in order to save the Nation after the sin of the Golden Calf he persuaded God to open the Gate of Tears. Our Sages teach that we can damage the body, we can damage the psyche, we can never damage the soul, dirty it perhaps but never damage it. Also, the Sages teach that tears bathe the soul! Where in your life, this past year, did you damage your body, your psyche, or dirty your soul that it seems there is no undoing it? Where in your life do you need to Cry in order to bathe your soul? What is blocking you from crying? September 16--21st of Elul Pick one person who hurt you in your childhood and ask yourself if you can find it in your heart to forgive them. I know it is hard to let go of the painful memories, but you are only hurting yourself by keeping a grudge. Perhaps there is one hurt where you can rise to the level of not forgiving that person, but instead asking that person to forgive you for causing them to hurt you. Yes, read that again! Now let us explain! Kabbalah teaches that the highest level of forgiveness is to realize that the pain you felt was necessary as a cleansing of an negative action you have done or as a wakeup call. The person who, on the physical level was the channel for that pain did not have to be the channel. They allowed themselves to be the channel and therefore they will receive the effect of their negative action. But truly what is the cause of their receiving this negative effect? It is you because you needed to receive this pain. When one realizes this truth one has the need to ask the person who hurt them to forgive them for needing this pain that eventually will lead to their own chaos. You do not have to do this on the physical level because most people do not study Kabbalah yet and would consider this kind of discussion a bit strange. Just visualize the conversation and whisper your apology privately. I pray that those of you on this journey in Teshuvah with me are finding forgiveness and forgiving others. You cannot just expect to be forgiven without any effort on your part. I know it is a belief of the church that it is automatic but that is not the way our Elohim does things. We have to seek Him and ask for forgiveness. He is always ready to forgive but we must do our part! Do not use Him as a tool...remember to respect Him..be in awe of Him...He is the GREAT I AM.....HE IS HOLY AND GLORIOUS. HE IS AMAZING AND WONDERFUL AND FULL OF POWER. LOVE AND ADORE HIM! I want only the best for you so I pray today is a blessing. I pray that if you are not in truth that you seek it diligently. The King is in the field......waiting.
