Im a Fool to Want You is on Billie Holidays 1958 collection Lady in Satin. Lady Days voice was shot, degraded by years of drug abuse and hard living, when she cut the song with Ray Ellis orchestra, and her performance has often been maligned. But, contrary to what were told by TVs sing-offs, there is more to interpreting a song than technique. At the dark end of the day, its about emotion. THIS is emotion. (Chris Morris)
