Im a Northern Monkey. Ive been told, so it must be true. Im actually an adopted child of no fixed biological heritage. Im a foundling, out of Chesterfield, Derbyshire. My adopted Dad was a soldier, a medic, stationed in Austria through the cold war years. Later driving civvy ambulances, then working in steel. Dad died in 2006. He met my Mam on a dance in London. My Mam was born on Great Portland Street, W1 - an evacuee through WW2 and later went into service, nanny to the children of Celia Johnson and Ian Fleming. I grew up in the aftermath of the Miners Strike in South Yorkshire. I left for London. I played guitar in notable bands, then went to art school. I have 1st class BA honours degree from Chelsea School of Art & MA Fine Art from Saint Martins. I worked and paid my own way through education. Ive written a hundred songs and made ten times as many art works. I campaign for civil, human and animal rights. For better or worse.... Im a northern monkey. And proud of it.
