Im a Northern Territorian myself, and my heart will always be in the NT outback. We work closely with the Darwin Rescue group, who do fantastic work up there but are severely under resourced. Rachelle from the Darwin Rescue Group saved Timber and sent him to Brisbane yesterday, and she has asked for us to help another little stray chihuahua from Darwin. This little guy (who is yet to be named!) was found with horrific injuries. His leg is so broken it must be amputated. He is too badly injured to fly to Brisbane at this stage, so the surgery must go ahead in Darwin. Unfortunately, this means that it will cost us more then double what it would cost in Brisbane, and this is at a discounted rate We are thankful for the All Pets vet in Darwin who are looking after him so well, being a Darwin girl myself I know that everything is more expensive in the Territory. Between the Darwin Rescue group and ourselves, we need to come up with the money by Friday. We need to raise $1500 to cover his surgery alone, and then pay for additional pain relief, post op care and his flights to Brisbane. As you can see by his xrays, he is in a bad way.
