Im a big believer in looking at the big picture as I find many - TopicsExpress

Im a big believer in looking at the big picture as I find many people tend to focus on say a single vitamin, mineral, supplement or lifestyle change and become obsessed with it to the exclusion of all others. Over-supplementing, over exercising and over obsessing about things leads to deficiencies in others areas and this to my mind is in no way conducive to long term health. I came to this conclusion ages ago but it was confirmed during study when I had to find references for any number of treatments and I could find a plethora of scientific evidence supporting just about any nutrient used in any disease or ailment which if taken in isolation would make you believe it was a miracle nutrient and saviour of all. When in reality what this was saying to me is that they are ALL super nutrients and super important, and a deficiency in ONE will lead to a variety of ailments all round. Thats not saying that there arent specific nutrients that are notably important to certain ailments, but overall the body needs BALANCE and the best way to do that is a wide variety of whole foods and a variety of different types of exercises to cater for all of our bodys needs. It just seems to be the way nature intended it to be!
