Im a big believer in reading the classics of craft philosophy and ideas, especially when I find some opinions about occultists, wiccans, or other pagans are brushed off on the basis of their reputation, rather than sitting down to unpack their ideas. Regardless if its my tradition or not, I find a lot of value in reading about others journeys and their paths to the divine. I havent read much of Gardner (if at all), personally Ive gravitated to the likes of Doreen Valiente and Dion Fortune (maybe its a chick thing?) but Id like to actually sit down and read him and sort of challenge my own preconceived notions. Despite not really jiving with the idea of initiation, Im interested in understanding why someone would want to be initiated into, say for example, Gardnerian or Alexandrian Witchcraft. As I sort of wander down the (scary) path of internet witches, this idea of initiation seems to be a big deal, and I personally cant say I get it, but thats not my journey. The images below are just some of the MANY, many books on Witchcraft that I would think many would consider are the quintessential books on witchcraft and magick. Books are great, but so is action ;) Live your Truth ~ Shannon
