Im a bigot, and a proud bigot. But Im only a bigot in respect to one issue of bigotry and when discussing those other issues of bigotry, I am incredibly offended by even being remotely associated with bigotry, because bigotry is wrong. I am a bigot on an issue that my society and culture has raised me to be bigoted towards, therefor my bigotry is completely justifiable. The victims of the bigotry that I project are not important, but what is important is how I feel about myself as a person. Therefor, I will vehemently detest anyone who illuminates reasons why my views are bigoted. Bigotry is only wrong and an important issue in reference to social justice movements that have already been fought for by others, or the ones that are in the process of being fought for. I believe this because I have been conditioned to believe this, and am either willfully ignorant to the facts of my bigotry, or am an apathetic person. I strongly detest bigotry (despite being a bigot myself) and attend rallies, have discussions and frequently intervene whenever I see any of the forms of bigotry that I do not support exposed publicly. When people do the same thing to me for the issue that I am bigoted towards, I use loaded language referring to them as extremists in a haphazard attempt to undermine the value of their message, because it holds up the mirror to me of the harm that I cause. I also suffer from cognitive dissonance, which I use to rationalize my bigotry at any opportunity possible. While I admire collective efforts against bigotry and support anti-bigotry campaigns, ones which target my form of bigotry are offensive to me and my way of life. While I love to literally force my beliefs upon those who suffer due to my bigotry, I justify this because of the utility I receive from subjugating them, then ironically tell people who alert me to this suffering through simple rational discussions that they are forcing their beliefs on me. I dont see my views as remotely hypocritical or contradictory, because I am with the majority of society in my bigoted beliefs and values. It doesnt matter that the same was true of bigots historically who upheld forms of bigotry that I am currently against, because society has changed. Following the commonly accepted position on issues is far easier for me than challenging my own bigotry and acknowledging the possibility that the current status quo is wrong, as was the case historically with other issues I support. I will continue being a bigot, because my form of bigotry is legal. It doesnt matter that the other forms of bigotry that I strongly oppose were once considered legal, because currently they are illegal or collectively understood to be wrong. In my mind legal equates to moral and anything which is legal should be an acceptable action, unless it is something which is illegal in the geographical region that I was raised in and is legal in another area, in which case those foreign people are evil bigots and their laws should be changed to accommodate to my world views. I dont see this as racist or hypocritical, because I have been conditioned to believe that my culture and geographical area is morally superior. The most important part of being an intelligent moral agent capable of rational thought isnt actually using these capacities, but instead blindly following the regimented cultural constructs of right and wrong mechanically. People who actually do think critically are threats to my way of life and should be shunned, ostracized and ridiculed at any opportunity. Critical thinking is only a relevant argument for why I have an arbitrary subjective right to be bigoted against others, but ironically should not be used to dismantle the irrationality of the bigotry that I am projecting. While there is a growing number of people worldwide claiming to be waking up to the bigotry that I am a party to, I will dismiss this from having any cultural currency and value by referring to the movement as a fad whilst equipping myself with a number of intellectually dishonest arguments and insults to be derisive in the face of their peaceful movement. How dare they engage with my bigotry? Only I may do that against people who I find are bigoted on issues that I have been conditioned to think are wrong. I am a robotic sheep. Repeat after me Dont question anything. Rationalize everything. You are the center of the universe. Only consider the suffering of those that you have been programmed to care about. Empathy only exists on issues you have been told it exists towards. Beep boop beep
