Im a little behind on posting daily Words of inspirational wisdom that will put you in a positive frame of mind, give you things to think about, and hopefully to help cleanse your soul. So ... Im going to give you several today (one for each day weve been here for you). Where I know the author of the statement, or the Bible reference, I will also give you that information. Wednesday March 5: Every moment is an opportunity for love and transformation. Treat those closest to you with the same love and respect you would afford a stranger. Your loved ones deserve it too. Before you respond negatively to a friend, a family member, a co-worker. Stop and think about how you can get your point across with love instead of anger or resentment. Do that once today, twice tomorrow, and three times the day after. Make it a habit. Another saying along these same lines is that you can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. You can accomplish what you want to, make the person think it was their idea to do that job, and have them happy to be doing it if you say it in a positive manner. When your husband/child takes out the garbage but makes a bit of a mess. Instead of yelling about the mess. Thank them for being so nice and taking out the garbage. Then ask them kindly if the would mind cleaning up the little bit that spilled in the process. You get what you need - the mess cleaned up, and they dont feel bad because they made the mess. Thursday March 6: I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). God loves us all and wants the best for us. He is in charge even though we try to manipulate situations to fit the way we think they should be. Try not to judge in the moment. Step back, wait, and listen. If you are patient, you will realize the truth, the lesson God wants you to learn about the situation you are in. Trust in that. Friday March 7: Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter (Rev. Martin Luther King). You, me, all of us have a voice. Together we can move a nation on things that matter. Together we can bring down companies that try to poison us by polluting the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the food we eat. We dont have to stand for it. Stand with us, help us effect a change that needs to be. Our ancestors didnt need GMOs in our food, or chemically enhanced poultry, or all the purifiers that is put in our drinking water. There is so much bleach in the water at my house that it has faded towels that are resistant to bleach in just a half dozen cleanings - and Im supposed to drink it??? Stand up for what is right. Saturday March 8: I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13). All of us need someone to believe in, someone who will be there for us always, someone we can talk to, someone we can depend on. Everyones path is different, although everyone has similar situations they face. Lean on God, let Him give you strength to face any battle you have. Talk to Him, He will listen. If you are quiet and patient, you will hear His answer. You also have a friend in us - we are here to help where we can if we can. At the very least, we can listen. Sometimes, oftentimes, that is all that is needed is someone to listen to you. Sunday March 9: YOU must be the change you wish to see in the world (Mahatma Gandhi). Most of us sit back and say how we could do a better job than someone else, how our ideas are better, etc. but we dont do anything to help make changes we think should be made. Volunteer to make a change, sign petitions to make a change, be proactive about your thoughts in areas that will affect change. Be a leader. Teach others how to do something instead of telling them what a horrible job they are doing. Remember there may be 2 ways of doing something. Love, peace and happiness are just as contagious as hate, dissent, anger, and resentment. Smile at your cashier, leave an extra big tip for your server at a restaurant, hold the door opened for someone, let someone with only 1 item to purchase ahead of your basket full of items, anonymously pay for someones meal at a restaurant (I have!). Spread joy. Pay it forward. The Boy Scout and Girl Scout motto is DO A GOOD DEED DAILY. Try it. Youll feel better because you did. You will feel even better if you do it anonymously.
