Im a person that can find something good or funny in just about every situation. But Im curious, what other people with horse farms, training facilities, riding lessons are using for insurance? Our insurance has gone up and up with us never ever having a claim, not so much as a broken window. We just got this years monthly payment and its up to $500 a month. I am told due to storms,in other parts of the country, fake law suits and exposure to horses is the reason for the outrages monthly payments we pay. Now, the insured horses are with a separate company. If you have been here you know I have security cameras everywhere, I have signs all over, gates that lock when we are gone and personally walk with all visitors and do not allow anyone in pastures or paddocks. Not sure what else we can do.We have had contracts made for any clinics we do always make the insurance aware we are doing and normally carry a extra binder for that clinic. We have contracts for people buying and picking up foals here at the farm, breeding contracts that hold us and our insurance company harmless. Wouldnt be nice to be able to charge people for something that might happen in the future..... Its nuts and have been with this company for 5 years, why with the billions of dollars these insurance companies take in, is it our faults for what everyone else is doing or weather in Kansas. It seems they are hell bent on eliminating the equine industry entirely. I think its time to retire.
