Im a seller and a client at the same time. I just wanna share my thoughts on issues about client dictating the price and suppliers disappointment on them hoping to rule out any biases. As a client, we do have a budget. Informing suppliers of my budget does not mean Im demanding this budget from them, it only means Im informing them of an estimation of how much Im willing to spend. If my budget is too low or unacceptable, then it should be my problem and not the sellers if I am to get a poor quality of service for that. As a seller, if I see this kind of post and think I wont be able to accomodate the client, I just let it go. If ever I wanna educate client/s on costing, I message the client, if necessary (so as not to embarrass him/her publicly) or start a different post/thread. In doing this, we must consider the following: -explaining things in a nice way, that does not provoke the client (if he/she still reacts negatively, then we know the problem is not on us anymore). -the client might not agree with us. We are to inform and not force our opinion. We are to respect at the same time their reaction (whether positive or negative) -if Im only posting so as to solicit the opinion of others, I shouldnt indicate the name of the person, specially if I have not yet done a business with them. If I shall post names, it shall be for the reason that I have had an acceptable negative experience (poor service, scam, etc.) with the person (whether client/seller), and only if I am directly involved, only for the reason of warning others. As seller we must have respect & compassion for our clients, even if potential clients only. This spells professionalism for them. After all, we are not on the losing end if we do this. Remember, our clients decide whose service they will avail and referrals come from them. Good customer experience plays a big role in the success of our business. #winwinsolution :) Yes, we have the freedom to express but we should also know our limits and think of its consequences or their benefits on us or others. Everything is permissible--but not everything is beneficial. Everything is permissible--but not everything is constructive. - 1 Corinthians 10:23 #letsmakelifesimple :) P.S.: If we are worried that other suppliers who offer unimaginably low price have an edge over us or are killing the industry, dont lose hope, most clients are looking for quality not just affordability.
