Im a sucker for those post from bloggers 43 foods youll be surprised that you can freeze and such like. I recently clicked read more on a post and did not learn a thing. Like most small town and country folks who raise or buy garden produce, or live a distance from the grocery store...Im very familiar with using the freezer. I did open some ones freezer recently and saw bags of potato chips,... I did not know you could freeze chips. I dont think the blogger knew it either, because that was not on her list. Over the holidays, my sisters were talking about how wasteful it is for them to buy a head of celery, when they only need one stalk...the rest goes to waste. That reminded me, I told them I freeze celery... chop it up, measure it out in one cup measures and freeze in bags. They were surprised about freezing celery. Frozen celery is great for soups or chicken salad. I also like to buy institutional size cans of tomato based products...(price is awesome when purchased this way) .tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, crushed tomatoes....measure out in 2 cup measures and freeze portions in zip top bags. These go in chili, soups, taco meat...and so forth. I made fresh salsa last summer....measured it out in the portion size needed to make our White Chili this winter. Works great. We froze sacks and sacks and sacks of diced green pepper last fall....You get the picture, Im a freezer fan.....plus you probably have your own picture of what you like to freeze. Oh freezer, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways.....its more than 43!!
