Im a total girls girl. Ive never been a girl that had more guy friends than girl friends. Im totally all about being surrounded by strong, amazing women who inspire and challenge me. But heres the thing about women that drives me crazy. We will turn ANYTHING and EVERYTHING into a controversy requiring hours upon hours of analysis and debate. Did I mention it can be ANYTHING? We especially love turning innocent and inconsequential topics into major hot button issues. Never has this been more apparent to me than over the last 24 hours when the topic of Elf on a Shelf was introduced to the Facebook once again. Let me just say this (after getting several private messages of concern from total strangers). If you dont think Elf on a Shelf is something you want to do with your kids. Dont. Having an Elf on the Shelf as a part of ones holiday tradition does not mean you dont love Jesus. If complete strangers having an Elf on the Shelf causes you to have this strong of an emotional reaction you may want to consider spending the money that would have otherwise been spent on said Elf on some therapy. I spent 80 weeks carrying and 24 cumulative hours in labor with epidurals that never fully took bringing these girls into the world. Their opinion on this super controversial Elf is really the only one Im interested in.
