Im absolutely gutted and freaked out to discover that my backyard was broken into today while I was at the produce store, and every rabbit I own was let out. You can imagine the mess I came home too with fur flying and probably some delightful x bred kits in a months time. While only one rabbit was killed, and none stolen, it has left me very upset. Whats most upsetting, after investigation, is that the person ( male, white, Caucasian) has been described by the boys playing basketball behind my yard. The person who broke in told these boys that they had forgotten their keys and locked themselves out, hence having to jump the fence! This to me, and to the police is leading very much to the conclusion that this was not a random, opportunistic event, but, a targeted event by someone who knows me. The police have been very helpful and are looking to see if any CCTV captures the streets around and the park behind my place to identify the person and the boys playing basketball have accepted to review such video if its available. I do my best these days to keep away from rabbit shows, rabbit Facebook drama and rabbit people. Please, who ever you are- by all means hate me, but leave my animals alone. They dont deserve to be tortured.
