Im afraid that this Apple iWatch is going to flop. Not because of anything Apple did wrong designing it. Just because theres too much FASHION involved. When I buy a laptop or a smart phone I dont have to WEAR the friggin thing. When it comes to what we all actually WEAR, its too personal, too variable, impossible to create a product or line that will make enough people happy to sell enough of them. If I were Apple I wouldnt have touched this space with a ten foot pole. The product itself looks as well executed as anything they make, I just dont think you can bang your head against that wall and win. If its a modest success and adds a billion of two to the top line, thats great, I just hope it doesnt crash and burn. The mobile payment system- THATs the sleeper here. Others have done this (Android has it now) but those dont have FIVE HUNDRED MILLION++ credit card accounts already on file. Apple is poised to hit a home run in that space, and if they do, nobodys going to lose any sleep over watch flops. In the meantime, Ill have a 64gb iPhone 6 by November. Im tired of looking at my cracked iPhone 5 screen.
