Im all for releasing prisoners, but this increasing trend where the executive branch excludes the legislative branch from its decisions is pretty disturbing, especially when it violates the law or the constitution in the process. People like to hate on congress, but the reality is the house and senate represent the diversity of public opinion far more accurately than the president does. The president represents roughly half of the populations votes, and recent presidents have proven themselves not very devoted to the principles they campaigned on, either...
