Im always amazed when self-help writers use psychological tools - TopicsExpress

Im always amazed when self-help writers use psychological tools improperly in order to sell books and/or seminars. They write well and are charismatic but theyre actually selling false hope and unrealistic expectations. If youve struggled with negative thinking, dysfunctional relationships, unfulfilled potential, fear, anxiety, substance abuse, anger or any other form of negative thoughts and emotions, then I highly recommend that you find a way to talk that stuff out with someone who is well trained to help you process it. Lasting change is like building muscle, you have to work at it in a consistent and methodical manner in order to affect the deeper intricate layers of your thoughts and emotions that are causing you to stay stuck or repeat the same behavior. Let me ask you something, if you needed a lawyer would you take legal advice or base your entire legal defense on a book written by someone who has never practiced law or has never been trained in legal matters? If you had a medical condition that consistently caused you problems, would you base your entire treatment on a book written by someone who is not trained in medicine or has never actually practiced medicine?
