Im always purchasing something for my classroom, so today I decided to go to Dollar General. As I walked out of the store, a guy who appeared homeless kept calling out to me, Maam, maam, over and over again as I approached my car. As many of us normally do, we ignore the call and keep going without looking back. Today, I ignored the call because of my expectation of what I KNEW what he would ask. As I lifted up my trunk to place my items in the car, this man started to approach me. He said, You dropped this out of your bag. I thanked him and noticed a Ci Cis across the way. I asked him if he would like to meet me there where I can pay for his buffet and leave. He was very grateful but told me he had just eaten and was full. The lesson I learned was not to judge a book by its cover. But at the same time, we need to be always watchful.
