Im always skeptical about studies which conclude that some very real trend will continue to its absolute maximum. A humorous example is the fictitious idiot who predicted that the robust tree that was growing a foot a month would eventually grow to the sky. I havent had time to read the journal article behind this news story, but I sure hope that when I do, I find out that this depressing forecast is just a case of tree on track to grow to sky. We definitely have a demographic problem in US farming and ranching. But I hope to find some data that will give me some reason for optimism. Time permitting, Ill report back when I get through the journal and the study data.
