Im an Alumni c/o 2014. Here are a few things I didnt know Id miss when I graduated 1. UCR WIFI. Seriously its great. I go to a different university for grad school. The wifi sucks here. Even though we complain about UCRs wifi shutting down for days, at least it works outside and all over campus 2. Parking. Yes the walk sucks from lot 30 in 100+ heat. What sucks more is having to take the bus to school because parking lots dont exist 3. Ivans coffee. Just trust me. 4. Being able to leave your crap on a table and ask someone to watch it. Seriously keep this culture of Highlanders watching out for each other. 5. Good Nap Spots on campus. #commuterlife there are NO places to nap on campus at my new university. None. Zero. And people poke you to wake you up and make sure youre alive should you fall asleep in the library. 6. The Botanical Gardens. (And if youre ever at Cal, go look around in theirs. Its beautiful) 7. The amount of space. I didnt realize how nice it was to not run into people in the hallways. Literally and figuratively. 8. Wednesday nooners. I miss hearing music and laughter and screaming Jesus/ pro-life/ _____ people and skateboarders and orgs selling food. 9. THE LIBRARIES. I miss options for libraries. 10. Tartan. Just plain old official UCR tartan on everything. Walls. Scarves. Sweatshirts. Signs. Bow ties. Kilts.
