Im an Atheist, but that doesnt mean I lack Faith or morals. I do have those traits because I chose to have them in my life and to be accountable for my actions because of my own faith and moral accountability to my founding beliefs. Those beliefs may contain moral parts I acquired from a religious foundation while young, but they do have a real foundation in the contract and oath I took as a Veteran upon entering service in the US Navy. I hold that oath to be still in effect. For that reason: I wish everyone a Merry Christmas or whatever you think of when I say seasons greetings. It is OUR willingness to obey laws and rules that makes us Americans. When I see rioters and civil unrest, It is not hard to understand that a lack of faith or strict morals is the root cause. Maybe, it is a function of religion to teach us the rules our society requires of us, but I dont believe that it has to necessarily to be a religion.
