Im an Australian citizen who is going to Ireland for 4 months November 2014- March 2015. Apparently you can only stay in the country for 90 days and I am going for 122 days. Does anyone know of a holiday visa I can apply for or do I need to change my tickets ? I keep getting told to apply for my irish passport (my father is irish therefore I am able to get my passport) but I just dont think that is necessary if Im only going for 4 months? Ive emailed the embassy in Canberra with minimal help, they keep telling me to apply for the passport and have given me no options for a holiday visa, basically telling me to either get the passport, change my ticket or consequently get refused by Irish immigration at Dublin airport. Someone must know of something I can do? Ill apply for the passport if I have to but seems odd I need the passport for a holiday. Thanks
