Im an unashamed Liverpool fan and, as such, a great admirer of Luis Suarez skills on the pitch - but equally believe he has to face a very lengthy ban and huge fine for what he did this week. Hes let his nation, his national team, Liverpool (for semi-defending him and keeping him on last time around) his family and all his fans down big time re this - and on one of the largest of world stages into the bargain. Hope he can live with himself. HOWEVER, if he and what he did is - as stated so often by and in the media - a bad example to young people, why then do the various telly stations continue to show it over and over again themselves in great detail, slow motion etc etc? Are they not simply enhancing that bad example themselves? Also if the national / international media spent half as much time as they have on continually highlighting Suarez admittedly reprehensible misdemeanors this week, by increasingly highlighting atrocities in Iraq, Syria and the like, maybe we would all have a better and more informed understanding of what REALLY matters in the world today. Football - and all the downside stuff that so often goes with it now-a-days - is not THAT important surely!!! For him to still be grabbing the headlines re this days down the line simply shows what a strange world we live in at times media wise.
