The US Naval Hospital Guantanamo Bay Recreations Committee is currently in the process of organizing a live auction fundraiser planned for September 19th, 2014. It is in support of our Command Holiday Party that will be on December 6th, 2014. The holiday party is of significant importance here in Guantanamo Bay due to the fact we are very isolated and many spend the holidays away from their loved ones. Our goal is to raise $14,000 for the event, and so far we have raised $2,000 from various fundraisers. We plan to have an attendance of 500-1000 people that will include, military personnel, military families, government contractors, Department of Defense civilians, and foreign nationals that reside here on our base. Auction items will be targeted towards all age groups. We have a committed and talented team of people who will work to ensure the Command Holiday Party is more than memorable for all that attend. You can help us by providing an item, gift basket, or anything that would help make our live auction fundraiser a huge success. When we begin our event advertising, we will include a public thank-you for your donation through our local media sources and also to any of your team members should they decide to donate. Our committee is a Non-profit organization that focuses on providing free and discounted recreation to our Military members and their families, as well as all other residents at Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Due to the unique hardship we are faced with on such an isolated base, our role here is significantly important. We aim to increase morale and welfare throughout our community.
