Im at Pandamaran for a Deepavali Open House organised together with local councilors in Klang, along with YB Xavier Jayakumar, ADUN for Sri Andalas. Many people from all over Klang, as well as friends from other areas are here too. This morning, the Selangor State Government provided RM1.14 million in emergency aid to families in Pandamaran, whose houses had been terribly damaged after the storms a fortnight ago. YAB Azmin Ali, the Selangor MB, was at the handing out ceremony this morning, along with YB Xavier and YB V. Ganabatirau, as well councilors in Klang. I also highlighted the tremendous achievement of students from a Tamil School in Kulim, who won a Double Gold Award at the prestigious Scientific Competition in London, after their innovative vending machine invention was named the best out of over 100 participants from 10 countries. In spite of this, not a word has been said by the Federal Government, let alone congratulate this most wonderful achievement. Last week, I raised this in my Parliament Speech for the government to award and also incentivise further inventions such as these to benefit both students and our technology industry.
