Im at the rest stop on 95..Darien.....a man stands up and for about 15 seconds proclaims his faith in Jesus Christ our Savior...believe me I am neither naieve nor uninformed.Upon hearing him I heightened my occular aquity so I could hear those 2 new fangled words we all need to be aware of.now. .ALOHA SNACKBAR.. just in case I identified my immediate surroundings in a Terminator like scan looking for the closest hard object with which to deflect schrapnel as I was directly in the potential blast radius..a Louganis quality dive would have been needed to clear the subway counter .when he is done I realize it is truly the Son of God he is honoring and no one else I start clapping because I thought it was cool and it was stone cold silence..half the place starts clapping....the 20 something sandwich engineer at Subway comes out from behind the counter before the man even got 6 words out his mouth and puts his hands on him to stop..Im 10 feet away and in my best badass tell him to take his hands off my friend right now ...he does...he immediately gets on the phone and I know he is calling the cops...yup..they show up 5 minutes later and remove the man...On their way out the cops asknif i am with him and its obvious i would not be I say no im not ..i just wanted the clown to get his hands off the guy..he wasnt doing anything wrong ... I ask the cops.....you cant be serious throwing him out for that ?....they laugh and shrug their shoulders.....I go over to the douchebag sandwich engineer with the pony tail and cheesy mustache and ask him if he called the cops...he said yes ..this is state property and no religion or God is allowed ...I called him an asshole and a loser ..he said ..sorry its the rules....and I said yeh ..and loser sheep like you follow them.....I threw in a fkn loser after that for good measure so he was clear I thought he was a fkn loser and he asked if I wanted him to call the cops on me....told him he could do whatever he wants ..millions have fought for his freedom of religion...speech..rig hts....he said .....WHATEVER.....UMMMMM......wrong answer......I asked him if his family ever served in combat..he said yeh ..my grandfather did...Why..?.....I got real close to him and said ..is he still alive ?....he said no.....I said Oh ok.....now I know he is rolling over in his grave wondering how his grand son ever grew up to be such a pussy........SILENCE.......exit stage right ........the asian couple gave me a big thumbs up as I walked away...WTF...all I wanted was an ice tea with lemon...we either stand for something or we all fall...true story...
