Im being brave and doing the Worlds Greatest - TopicsExpress

Im being brave and doing the Worlds Greatest Shave! Unfortunately everyone has someone in their life affected by cancer. When I worked on the cancer ward in a Perth hospital I was surprised how many young people were affected by blood cancers. Whilst I was pregnant with my son Flynn I often reflected on a woman I met who developed Leukaemia whilst pregnant. She was amazingly brave and never once complained about the hand she had been dealt. Im not sure I would have acted the same way. Today, 31 Australians will get the news they have blood cancer. Your donation will help the Leukaemia Foundation to fund its important work – providing practical and emotional support to people with blood cancer, as well as investing millions in research. I will be honest and say, yes Im nervous about shaving my hair off. For a long time I have struggled with self confidence about how I look. Im sure this is something we all struggle with at times. Ive decide to confront this fear head on haha pardon the pun. Society drives crazy expectations about how we are meant to look and act. Well screw that. Im determined not only to fundraise a great amount for the Leukaemia foundation but to use this opportunity to examine the expectations I have of myself and others. After all I want my son to grow up confident about how he looks and to know that what really matters is whats inside. I hope I can gain the confidence and courage to model this belief. Please donate generously and help the leukaemia foundation. After all it could be you or me. Cancer doesnt discriminate.
