Im calling this out here and now. Brothers and sisters study and pray over this if you feel so led. Colossians 3: 17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. Eph 5: 20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; 21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God. I am hearing of a new doctrine claiming from these few verses that we are being instructed to address Jesus as Lord upon every mention of him. There is a danger in forming a doctrine that can only be proved by few verses. Why? Because a a further study of the rest of the word of God proves otherwise. This doctrine is seeking to belittle saints who do not call Jesus Lord every single time. It will make you feel like a sinner and like you are in disobedience to God. Do not heed to it. I can disprove it using a multiple verses where both angels of God and saints did not call him Lord every time. But I only need a couple to cast down this stronghold (if it has gotten hold of your thinking). Peter, a man of God, on the day of Pentecost had just been filled with the Holy Ghost. His command here... Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. As you can plainly see, the Holy Ghost, through Peter did NOT tell us to baptize using the title Lord for Jesus. Next verse from the same Holy Ghost filled man of God... Act 3:6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. As you can see, Peter healed a man while speaking the phrase in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth... Once again the title Lord is absent. A few more... Acts 4: 10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. 11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. 12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Peter even admits that there is salvation in NO OTHER name than the one he used...Jesus Christ of Nazareth. If God truly wanted us to call him Lord Jesus or Lord Jesus Christ EVERY time, then he would NOT have kept it a secret from Peter and the 11, but only revealed it to Paul. Paul was NOT saying that we should do ALL in the PHRASE Lord Jesus Christ any more than Jesus meant for us to baptize in the phrase in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Paul said to do ALL in the name of the Lord JESUS Christ. I cant count how many times people have been healed and delivered by this ONE name. Jesus is our Lord, our Saviour, and our God. There is no other. Sadly, I am hearing of people claiming that by not calling him Lord EVERY time that we are not exalting him or giving him enough honor and respect. If we truly wanted to honor and respect him we would NOT call him by ONE of his many titles. Jesus is many many many things to us beyond even the title Lord. Lord of lords, King of kings, Counsellor, Prince of peace, Mighty God, Lamb, Lion, Everlasting Father, Apostle, High priest... The time would FAIL us if we were to give him the glory and honor due unto him. I encourage you. Seek Jesus, and pray. For there is no higher name! God bless you all today.
