Im certain some of my friends might wonder about my sanity - fly all day to a foreign country that is hot and humid to awaken at 5:15 a.m.; dress and eat breakfast at 6 then hit the trail thru the rainforest by 7 to hike over roughly developed paths as the thermometer climbs and the humidity sizzles - returning to Camp at Noon for lunch and then back to the forest for more hiking until just before dark. Grab a cold shower - there is NO warm water - check off the things you saw today with our leaders - eat dinner and then often go out at night with spot-lights and taped calls of owls to see WHAT you might have respond and have perched. Back to camp at 11 p.m. to sleep and then repeat. But I REALLY enjoy it and find it quite rewarding and relaxing PLUS it keeps me learning while meeting interesting people and having LOTS of adventures.
