Im certain there is nothing in life more horrifying or painful - TopicsExpress

Im certain there is nothing in life more horrifying or painful than when something happens to your children. I considered weather I wanted to share this in a public, but felt if I could keep one mom from the fear and agony I went through on Monday it would be well worth it. Information and knowledge should be shared. I have so many girlfriends/moms I share with here. I hope this can serve as useful information. I tend to be very laid back with my sons. I dont get riled up over injuries , broken bones or every day boy things. This was very different. On Monday Luca had his physical and tetanus shot. We sat in the waiting room waiting for Dante to finish up. About two minutes after his shot I looked at him out of the corner of my eye. His hands had seized up under his chin , he was making involuntary sounds and his chin went down. It looked exactly like what you image a full seizure to look like. I, of course, was screaming and losing it. The doctor and nurses laid him on the floor and within a few minutes his eyes fluttered open and he asked why I was crying and what was happening. He laid in the exam room for half an hour white and sweating /clammy. His blood pressure was back to normal. What I have learned from my doctor , friends and medical friends of friends, is that this is a form of fainting or Syncope. It looks very much like a seizure. Sometimes an empty stomach or being slightly dehydrated before can add to this. Hes fine and ready to hit the ice and get his goalie equipment back on tonight. A reminder that no work , no pettiness , stress or daily issues matter. This is all that matters. Healthy boy.
