Im confused.Why have tribal leaders bowed to Alaska in the matter of regulating dope, acting as if state law was the only tool around. Why not employ Federal law to regulate dope in the villages and expand tribal sovereignty at the same time? Why convince Alaska Natives to reply on state law, only, when state local option has not been backed by necessary law enforcement by real police? Alaska Natives can have it both ways. By voting Yes on the state law and by seeking Federal support for restrictions on the sale and possession in the villages as tribes.This is another opportunity to expand sovereignty in the face of historical state neglect.
