Im courting the idea of establishing a haunted experience for Halloween next year. Haunted houses are cheap, strobed-out linear corridors that treat visitors like children. Horror, when its good, takes place in the mind, so, heres my proposal: What if the customers drove the narrative of the experience? Imagine about an acre of space open for exploration that tells one cohesive story. Sure, there would be detailed, scripted sets and performers, but the relation between those things and the visitors would be that of their interpretation. The overall idea is to kill the cheap boos! and exploit curiosity, doubt and the feeling of insanity. If anyones interested in spitballing ideas or bankrolling (hahahahaha) this potential project, let me know.
